A lovely first edition of this uncommon novel, in a pleasing example of the original dust wrapper designed by Michael Ayrton.

The first edition, first impression, with no further impressions stated.

In the original unclipped dust wrapper designed by Michael Ayrton. Ayrton designed wraps for several notable authors including Wyndham Lewis, William Golding and Albert Camus.

A progressive work of lesbian fiction, 'The Dark Side of Venus' tells the story of an unconsummated love affair between two women. Whilst lesbian stories were being written, 'The Dark Side of Venus' is unusual in its focus on romance, rather than cultural and societal difficulties.
