Michael Joseph, London

The first trade edition of this horticultural poem by Bloomsbury Group member Vita Sackville-West.

The first trade edition, first impression with no further impressions stated. A signed limited edition was published the same year.

In the original price clipped dust wrapper.

Remembered for her gardens at Sissinghurst, ‘The Garden’ is a long form poem, set against the backdrop of the Second World War. The poem is divided into four sections, with each representing a different season.

In the original cloth binding in the original price clipped dust wrapper. Externally in lovely condition. Dust wrapper is very smart, with creasing and the occasional chip to the extremities, notably to the head of the spine. The odd spot to the wrap. Internally firmly bound. Pages bright and clean.

Grading: FINE in a VERY GOOD dust wrapper.
