The first US edition of the work. Published earlier the same year in the UK under the title 'Dumb Witness'.  

Lacking the original very scarce dust wrapper. 

A classic Poirot novel, in which a woman writes to Poirot asking for help following a perceived attempted murder. The work also features Arthur Hastings and is the last to do so until the final Poirot novel, Curtain.  

In the original cloth binding. Externally very smart with slight bumping to the head and tail of the spine. Prior owner’s gift inscription to front free endpaper. Slight fading to spine. Internally firmly bound. Pages bright and clean.
