The first edition of the eighth work in George MacDonald Fraser’s Flashman series of novels.

The first edition, first impression with no further impressions stated.

In the original unclipped dust wrapper designed by Artur Barbosa.

The series is based on fictional ‘discovered historical papers’ relating to Harry Flashman, the bully from Thomas Hughes’ novel ‘Tom Brown’s School Days’. In this work, Flashman meets the leaders of the Taiping Rebellion.

In the original cloth binding in the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally in excellent condition with just minor bumping to the extremities. Offsetting to the endpapers. Dust wrapper is in excellent condition to sunning to the spine as is common with this work. The odd spot to the wrap. Internally firmly bound. Pages bright and clean with just the odd spot to the top edge.

Grading: NEAR FINE in a VERY GOOD INDEED dust wrapper.
