The eighth published novel, and the fifth chronologically, the work is set during the Napoleonic Wars in 1805 and follows Hornblower on his first mission since his promotion to Post-Captain. 

In the original cloth binding in the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally very smart with shelf wear to the extremities. Dust wrapper is very smart with occasional creasing and chipping to the extremities, slightly more significant to the head and tail of the spine. Handling marks and scattered spotting to the wrap. Internally firmly bound. Pages bright and clean with the odd spot to the first and last few pages.

Grading: VERY GOOD INDEED in a VERY GOOD dust wrapper.
